Natuna tektites were found on the Indonesian Natuna Islands, located in the South China Sea.
They were formed by a meteorite impact almost 800,000 years ago. Natuna tektites therefore belong to the wider group of so-called Australasian tektites, which are found in Southeast Asia – mainly in Thailand, Laos, Vietnam, China, Indonesia, and the Philippines.
