Meteorite | Pallasite | Awsserd 002 | 3,3 g

Product detailed description
This exceptional pallasite, named Awsserd 002, was discovered in 2019 in the Western Sahara, approximately 20 km from the village of Awsserd. Pallasites are rare iron-stone meteorites composed of olivine crystals and a metallic matrix. They are believed to form at the boundary between the core and mantle of extinct protoplanets, providing a unique insight into the internal structures of bodies from the early days of our solar system. This is one of 97 approved meteorites classified as pallasites.
The Awsserd 002 meteorite is extremely rare. Only 427 grams of this meteorite have been found.
In addition to its scientific and collector's value, it is also aesthetically appealing. Huge translucent yellow-brown olivine crystals are set in a shiny matrix, creating a fascinating cosmic mosaic that combines natural beauty with the billion-year-old history of the cosmos.
