Meteorite | Mars Shergottite | Ouargla 010 | 28,49 g

Product detailed description
Ouargla 010 is a rare Martian meteorite of the Shergottite type, discovered in 2025 in Algeria. It originates directly from the surface of Mars and is characterised by a unique olivine-microgabbro structure. Only 545 g of this meteorite were found. Ouargla, Algeria
Its internal composition consists mainly of clinopyroxene, olivine and maskelinite – a natural glass formed by the transformation of feldspar under extreme pressure and temperature during the asteroid’s impact on the Red Planet. The surface of the stone has a characteristic brownish hue with a partially preserved fusion crust, which formed as it passed through the Earth’s atmosphere.
This is a select collector’s piece, Ouargla 010, of exceptional quality. Meteorites from Mars account for less than one per cent of all meteorites found on Earth, making this specimen an exceptionally rare and valuable addition to any collection.
The meteorite is officially certified and listed in the Meteoritical Bulletin Database: https://www.lpi.usra.edu/meteor/metbull.php?code=86269
