Meteorite | Lunar | El Atchane 024 | 118,7 g

Product detailed description
The Apollo missions brought 382 kg of lunar rocks back to Earth, with a total value of $23.9 billion - approximately $62,565 per gram. Today, however, you have the opportunity to own a real piece of the Moon that came to Earth naturally... as a meteorite.
Lunar meteorites are the result of huge asteroid impacts that hurl rocks from the moon's surface into space. These fragments then travel through the solar system until they are caught by Earth's gravity and burn up in the atmosphere. A small fraction of these bodies survive the passage through the atmosphere and hit the surface of our planet as a meteorite.
This piece has overcome our atmosphere and is classified as a feldspathic melt breccia - a rock with a high content of feldspars, mainly plagioclase (anorthite). Under the microscope, it reveals impact glass, shock veins and traces of cosmic weathering. It is a rock composed of fragments of older lunar rocks joined together by the strong impact of another body.
El Atchane 024 was found in southern Algeria near El Atchane by the meteorite hunter Yahdih. In 2025 the meteorite was purchased by Milan Zvara and Zdeněk Schneider and subsequently analysed by Prof. José Garcia in the Canary Islands. The result is the official classification and entry in the international meteorite database.
This is a slice from the largest lunar meteorite in the Czech Republic and possibly in Europe.. There are only 8 slices in total - this piece is the 1st of 8. Since no more pieces of this meteorite exist and will never be created, we also consider it an exceptional investment opportunity.
