Product detailed description
Adrar 017 is a lunar meteorite of the troctolite-anorthosite breccia type, originating from the Adrar region in Algeria. It consists of gray-green fragments (clasts) up to several centimeters in size with a characteristic brecciated structure, embedded in a dark gray matrix with localized pockets of melt.
The main mineral component is plagioclase (over 80%), supplemented by olivine and pyroxenes. Minor and accessory phases in the rock include oxides, iron sulfides, Fe-Ni metal, and thin veins of secondary minerals.
Adrar 017 is an aesthetically appealing and mineralogically valuable sample of lunar crust. One of its polished sides fully highlights the contrasting structure and internal details of the minerals, making it ideal for collectors and as an investment.
