Meteorite | Chondrite | 70-100 g

Product detailed description

Chondrites are the most accessible type of meteorite. Yet their story is no less fascinating. They formed around 4.56 billion years ago, several million years after the solar system was formed, making them the oldest known objects you can touch. They have remained unchanged since their formation (unlike everything else you'll find on our planet) and provide us with contact with the primitive material from which all the planets in our solar system, including our Earth, were formed.

The dark crust of these chondrites is evidence of their extraterrestrial origin and of the Earth’s robust protective barriers, which make it difficult for meteorites to reach our surface.

Holding such a piece in your hand, one of the few that has made its extraordinary journey to our mother Earth, is, as with all meteorites, an exciting experience.

We currently have several pieces weighing between 70-100 g available for you (the photograph is illustrative). If you would like to choose a specific specimen, we will be happy to send you photos of the pieces currently available on request.

The price of the meteorite includes a certificate of authenticity and the plastic box shown in the photo.
