Meteorite | Achondrite | Djoua 001 | 4934 g

Product detailed description
This impressively large end cut of a meteorite named Djoua 001 is an unusual achondrite, classified as an aubrite. The origin of aubrites is still shrouded in mystery and it is very likely that it is a piece of the planet Mercury. More will hopefully be confirmed by one of the 2 probes that are on their way to the planet Mercury, aboard the Ariane 5 rocket, which will arrive at the site in December 2025.
Aubrites are usually bright with a brownish crust with a strong breccia, bearing traces of the impact of another body. They consist mainly of large white crystals of iron-poor orthopyroxene and magnesium-rich or enstatite, with minor phases of olivine, metallic nickel and troilite, indicating magmatic formation under extreme conditions.
The price includes a custom-made iron stand by an artistic blacksmith.
