PRIM Orlík Watch – Muonionalusta in the Blue Planet variant

Product detailed description
The Orlík was originally created in 1965 as a bespoke commission for the Czechoslovak Army. It is now making a comeback in a limited edition – in the ‘Blue Planet’ colourway, featuring a dial made from genuine Muonionalusta meteorite.
The watch case is crafted from corrosion-resistant 904L steel and is water-resistant to 20 ATM. We handcraft the bezel from HyCeram® – a single piece takes dozens of hours to complete. Inside, the in-house PRIM 95 calibre keeps time. Furthermore, for the very first time, the Orlík features an all-steel strap designed by Czech designer Lukáš Taneček, whose design evokes the outstretched wings of an eagle.
The Muonionalusta meteorite formed before our planet did and, once etched, reveals the geometric structure of Widmanstätten patterns. These are formed only by the extremely slow cooling of metal in space. Each slice cuts through the structure at a different point, so every dial is a unique original. We select only the most striking pieces, one by one, for our watches and hand-set the hour markers, coated with Super-LumiNova®, onto them.

As curators of an exhibition on meteorites, we have tried these watches ourselves, and you can view them in this ‘Blue Planet’ colour at our Mazanka Showroom in Prague 8
